Hello and thanks for visiting the website of Andrew Beattie.

This site has been developed to support and promote Andrew Beattie, author of books on travel, history and the environment, and stage plays and historical fiction for children.

My career as an author has encompassed two very different areas – travel books, which also include books about history, culture, and the environment, and children’s plays, which have been written for performance by schools and youth theatre groups, along with upper middle grade children’s fiction.

In the part of the site relating to travel books you can see photographs that I took during each book’s research but which, for various reasons, were not included in the books when they were published; the parts of the site relating to plays include details about where each play has been performed, the play’s story and characters, and some sample pages of dialogue.

Please click on the relevant link above or to the right to enter either section of the site. In both sections I have provided links to publishers’ websites (and to Amazon) so that copies of the books and plays can be purchased by those who are interested.
